Mitsubishi Electric Updates Ceiling-concealed Indoor Units

Features Include Improved Efficiencies, Static Pressure Settings

SUWANEE, Ga., June 19, 2012 - Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating (Mitsubishi Electric) has announced significant updates to its ceiling-concealed, ducted commercial indoor units, offering end-users adjustable static pressure settings, extremely quiet operation and high efficiency.

"Our ceiling-concealed indoor units are a great solution for commercial applications where above-ceiling space exists and short duct runs are applicable," says Marc Zipfel, director of product marketing, Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating. "The updated units include several new features for increased energy and system efficiency."

These single phase ducted indoor units (models PEFY-P72 and PEFY-P96) include a new motor that provides up to 60 percent energy savings over previous generation equipment, and static pressure settings up to one inch that provide flexibility for duct extension, branching and air outlet configuration.

Other features of the unit include:

-       Dual set-point functionality

-       Single-phase power

-       Reduced noise (36-46 dBA)

-       Multiple fan-speed

According to Zipfel, this unit is an ideal choice for guest rooms in hotels, dormitories, assisted living centers or any application that has tight vertical clearances and minimal ductwork. The ceiling-concealed indoor units can be used with all of Mitsubishi Electric's Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) zoning outdoor units and can be monitored through the CITY MULTI Controls Network.
