Industry-leading Hyper-Heating INVERTER® MXZ Outdoor Unit is First Cold Climate Heat Pump for Multiple Zones

SUWANEE, Georgia, October 22, 2014 – Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division (Mitsubishi Electric), America's No. 1 selling brand of ductless cooling and heating systems, has introduced the Hyper-Heating INVERTER® (H2i®) MXZ multi- zone outdoor unit for residential applications. The H2i MXZ is the newest addition to Mitsubishi Electric's Hyper-Heating INVERTER family of products, the most complete family of cold climate heat pump products on the market.

At 19 SEER, the H2i MXZ (pictured right) is Mitsubishi Electric's first Hyper-Heating INVERTER multi-zone unit for use in residential applications. A single multi- zone outdoor unit is capable of connecting to up to eight indoor units, making the system an ideal solution for whole-home cooling and heating.

"Our patented H2i technology makes the MXZ the first and only multi-zone system to provide powerful heating to multiple zones in extreme cold climates," says Mike Smith, senior marketing manager, residential products, Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division. "With the addition of the H2i MXZ, we're able to offer multi-zone comfort with all the benefits of hyper-heat technology – meaning improved efficiency, quiet operation and decreased installation time."

Available from 22K to 54K Btu/h capacities, the H2i MXZ makes heating and cooling in extreme conditions particularly cost-effective. The multi-zone units feature 100 percent heating capacity at five degrees Fahrenheit and guaranteed operation down to minus 13 degrees Fahrenheit – one of the highest performance capabilities for cold climate heat pumps on the market.

H2i MXZ multi-zone units are compatible with Mitsubishi Electric's variety of ductless and ducted indoor units, including the new H2i MSZ-FH model. This air handler features the i-see Sensor® 3D – an exclusive 3D heat imaging technology that automatically scans to locate people in the room and delivers the right amount of conditioned air needed to meet the desired temperature.

The ENERGY STAR® qualified H2i MXZ is also compaitable with the M-NET control adapter, part of the CITY MULTI® Controls Network (CMCN). Consisting of remote controllers, centralized controllers, Building Management System (BMS) interfaces and integrated software, the CMCN provides advanced, user-friendly control for each zone of a home with options for individual or centralized temperature control.

H2i MXZ multi-zone units are available now through Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division distribution channels. Click here for more information.
