Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division Appoints Jeff Whitelaw to Senior Director, Engineering Management and Testing

SUWANEE, Ga., April 23, 2014 - Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division (Mitsubishi Electric), America's No. 1 selling brand of ductless cooling and heating systems, has appointed Jeff Whitelaw to senior director, engineering management and testing.

Whitelaw comes to this position from a corporate affiliate of Mitsubishi Electric that distributed consumer and commercial audio-video products. In his new role, Whitelaw manages all aspects of the division's engineering projects. This includes overseeing the work of project managers and coordinating departmental and cross-functional teams focused on developing new and existing products. He also ensures all engineering initiatives meet or exceed the division's established objectives.

Whitelaw has worked for Mitsubishi Electric for 26 years. He spent his first seven years at Mitsubishi Electric Sales Canada Inc. in Markham, Ontario, before transferring to a U.S. affiliate of Mitsubishi Electric. Whitelaw most recently served as the vice president of human resources and administration of that affiliate.

In previous roles, Whitelaw has served as a liaison within all facets of the engineering department in order to coordinate and implement product expansion. He has developed, managed and maintained company procedures, in addition to overseeing quality and logistics for finished goods and services. Beyond his immediate contributions to Mitsubishi Electric, Whitelaw is a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the Canadian Institute of Management.

Whitelaw holds both a Certificate in Management and a Professional Manager designation from the Canadian Institute of Management, Barrie, Ontario. He is scheduled to obtain his Human Resources Management and Services certificate later this year from the University of California, Irvine, Calif.
