SUWANEE, Ga. – October 29, 2026 – Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC (METUS), a leading supplier of all-electric, all-climate Ductless and Ducted Mini-split and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) heat pump and air-conditioning systems, today announced the next generation of s-MEXT products by Mitsubishi Electric. The precision cooling solution pairs with P-Series Outdoor Units for data centers, telecommunications, server rooms, uninterrupted power supply (UPS) rooms, and other high sensible precision cooling applications.

The latest generation of s-MEXT products includes compatibility with Mitsubishi Electric PUY and PUZ low-global warming potential (GWP), R-454B outdoor units and capacity options of a 2-ton, 3.5-ton, and 5-ton unit. The updates are designed to accommodate evolving industry project requirements and various system configurations.

This system is designed with reliability in-mind to support dependable operation for owners seeking to minimize downtime. Designed for simple installation, s-MEXT also reduces initial setup time, compared to prior generations.

s-MEXT’s compact footprint, long piping length capability, and high sensible capacity are advantageous in limited spaces. Two airflow configurations are available based on room needs and layout. Air can be delivered from the top of the unit for rooms with standard flooring or the bottom of the unit, for rooms with raised floors.

s-MEXT includes the EVOLUTION+ controller with a 7-inch touch screen interface that simplifies operation from the prior generation solution, and provides temperature and humidity management. The system supports LAN networking for centralized monitoring, balancing, and backup functionality, with building management system integration available through communication card accessories.

s-MEXT systems adjust power needs in real-time with an inverter compressor and Electronically Commutated (EC) fans. Paired with a linear expansion valve to support cooling, s-MEXT provides quick system stabilization and adaptation to load fluctuations.

“With the next generation of s MEXT, we are advancing our precision cooling portfolio to better support customers managing environments where uptime is essential,” said James DeBerry, Manager of Commercial Marketing, METUS. “These updates are designed to make precision cooling easier to manage as project requirements evolve.”

METUS provides contractors with responsive technical support, nationwide product distribution, and dependable warranty coverage from installation through long-term operation.
