Lynch Cabin
Paul and Marion Lynch purchased and renovated a 1960s single-story ranch home in College Park, Ga. Their son Corbett Lunsford, host of the Home Diagnosis TV show pitched in to help them replace the home’s 20-year-old gas furnace/coil combo with a METUS electric heat pump.
Hotel Marcel
Hotel Marcel, a 110,000-square-foot rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of New Haven, Connecticut’s historic Pirelli Building, has raised the bar for sustainable hospitality as the first Passive-house certified, zero-emission hotel in the U.S.
St. James the Greater Catholic School
A new HVAC system significantly enhanced the comfort for the 178 students at St. James the Greater Catholic School. In fact, the school soon noticed that students increased their test scores because they were able to better focus on the teachers and not on the environment.
Little Residence
As an educator and advocate for sustainable homes, Brett Little uses his house’s retrofit to demonstrate how millions of Americans could live in healthy, low-carbon homes with upgrades paid for through mortgage refinancing, construction financing and home equity lines. Little increased his monthly mortgage by $40 to pay for improvements like replacing his malfunctioning gas furnace with a ducted air source heat pump from Mitsubishi Electric. All-electric heating was essential as the retrofit’s green design eliminated the hazards and costs of gas lines and combustion.
Credit Human Headquarters
San Antonio’s revitalized Pearl development, just two miles from the city’s popular Riverwalk and the famed Alamo, offers some of the Lone Star State’s most desirable real estate. Locally owned shops and boutiques, chef-led restaurants, more than 600 residences, a twice-weekly farmers market and a 5-Diamond hotel (Hotel Emma) can all be found at Pearl, which operated as the Pearl Brewery for over a century before its closure in 2001. Pearl was the ideal place for Steve Hennigan, CEO of Credit Human, to bring his vision for a sustainable, beautiful new headquarters to life.
800 North High Street (Moxy)
When Crawford Hoying purchased a piece of sought-after premium real estate in Columbus, Ohio’s popular Short North Arts District, they had to ensure the building would drive revenue.
